Create your first clan

Creating a clan takes about a minute. The one decision that matters is whether it stands on its own or mirrors a Roblox group, because that choice is hard to undo.

Before you start

  • A linked Roblox account — see Create your account.
  • For Group Mode: the numeric ID of a Roblox group you own.

The wizard

Start from Create Clan on the dashboard. The wizard is five steps at most, and every step has a Back button.

  1. Name your clan. This is how it appears to members. You can rename it later.
  2. Choose a mode. Group-less or Group Mode — see below.
  3. Group-less: confirm, and you are done. Group Mode: enter your Roblox group ID.
  4. Group Mode only — choose an auth method. OAuth or bot.
  5. Confirm. The clan is created and you land on its page.

Group-less or Group Mode

If your clan already lives in a Roblox group, Group Mode saves you from running two member lists. If it doesn't, Group-less is less to manage. Connect a Roblox group goes into what changes.

OAuth or bot

Group Mode needs permission to act on your Roblox group. There are two ways to give it.

OAuthBot
Uses your own Roblox account's authorisationAn Archievery bot is added to your group
Syncs straight awayThe clan starts pending until we add the bot
Needs an authorisation you have already grantedNothing to set up in advance

A bot-mode clan works from the moment it is created. It shows members and ranks from Archievery; it just can't push changes back to Roblox until the bot has been added.
